Thinning Millennium woods

Wow what a difference a day makes. Yesterday the Volunteers were working in a newly planted wood (15 years) called the millennium wood, it was planted up as part of Scarborough’s Millennium project. Luckily the tree guards had been removed so the task was a little easer but the ConVols do what they do best and through them selves into the task. We are coming back next week to finish its first thinning and that should encourage new plant life and increase its biodiversity.

This Friday we are having our Christmas dinner in a marquee on a car park not to far away from the Meadow, we would have used the meadow but alas its soaking wet. We thought that all the cars and vans needed to make our hog roast a success would destroy what little is left of the road, so its Hazel head car park here we come. All our volunteers are welcome with partners and children its also free of any charges so thats welcome at this time of year
